Gangtok, has no air or rail connection to the city. You have to take the train up to Darjeeling, Kalimpong, New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri and then continue your journey by road. An alternative is to fly from Kolkata to Bagdogra and then take the daily helicopter service to Gangtok or drive up.
